2019 Planner Set-Up

HAPPY NEW YEAR

It’s a new year and usually with that a whole new set of planners. This year though I am only introducing one new planner and continuing to use a planner I used for the last 4 months of 2018.

Let’s star with my good old faithful. My EDC/Handbag planner is a Hobonichi Weeks style planner, which I loving refer to as the faux-weeks. I got this from Aliexpress for around £6 after hearing about how nice they were from one of my YWOC PR teamies ( who sent me 4 more lol). I fell in love and haven’t looked back. I love the space in it, it is light, versatile and perfect for popping in my handbag. It is great pop having all my appointments and such in. I do decorate it when I can be bothered but I am not fussed if it stays plain as it is purely a functional planner.

My other planner which is more comprehensive and which I am using for everything (social media, house, blog, book reviews and colletions) is a Scribbles That Matter Bullet Planner. I had been eyeing this up then Sam (another YWOC PR Teamie) showed me hers when we attending a blogging event together in December and my partner bought it for me for christmas. This planner is in the form of a bullet journal and has the inside set up for you, this is perfect for me as not only did I love the style but I love not having to worry about drawing it out myself each week. This will be the one coming to hospital with me for my surgery appointments so I didn’t want the pressure of decorating.

I added my own collections to some of the blank pages and I have to say I am loving it so far. The paper quality is aaaammmaazzzinnnggg.

I picked planners this year based on 2 reasons;

  1. Maximum Functionality
  2. Something that is easy to carry around, take to hospital and most importantly not to have to decorate each week if I get sick again.

What are you using this year? I would love to know.

Thanks for reading

What!? There Have Been No Posts!?

Hey Everyone,

As the title suggests, lately there have not been any posts from me. We moved house on the 1st December and the week prior to that I was decorating the new house and the week after I was very unwell and had hospital appointments.

I have found that managing my Crohns and moving quite a bit difficult, the stress of it meant as soon as we moved I was really unwell and I havent felt that bad since before my operation. I honestly thought I was heading back into a major flare, luckily though it seems it was just a mini one and I needed to rest.

I had news from my Urologist last week that while there are two options to having a permanant fix for my kidney both are such high risk to life with low success rates that I have been advised against them. I am waiting for a MAG3 scan to confirm the damage to my right kidney before moving forwrd. It might mean the damage is as severe as with my left kidney and I will have to have stents fitted in both. For the forseeable future though my left kidney will have to be re-stented every 4 months, this means more surgeries which I am not thrilled about to say the least.

At the moment I am just taking things one day at a time and seeing how I go. I have no expectations when it comes to my health as each day can vary so much.

I am currently trying to work my way through blog posts that I have missed and feel terrible for committing to them and then not been able to uphold my end. I thought that at least if I can get the reviews out there even f they are late, it’s better than nothing.

I hope you are all well and getting into the festivities that come with this time of year. I am so happy I have my tree up, it feels like Christmas is coming now.

Take Care,

The Andrew McMeel Posh Planner {Review}

Hey Everyone,

I was browsing my local bookshop and of course that meant stumbling along to the academic planners which had just been released (Yes, I know this post is 2 months late, opps). I saw one which stood out to me, it was so very pretty and had lovely golden detailing.

20180824_142544.jpg

I had a flick through and loved the layout of it. On the back was all the brand details which I had never heard of before. I can’t believe as a planner girl I have never before seen these. This one is part of the Organised Living Range

When you open the front cover there is a wallet section to pop stickers/notes/letters. Not only does it have little bits but the top opens for larger documents as well. There are pages showing all the 2018 and 2019 holidays, a monthy tracker, monthly overview and then a weekly diary section. At the back there is a section for emergency numbers, notes and planning for 2020 as well as 2 sheets of stickers.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

For me the best part of this planner is the weekly overview. Each day is split into a writing part and a part with checkboxes for things such as to-do lists. There is also a section at the bottom for notes or has a pre-written quote. This allows so much flexibility for planning my days.

May 21st-27th Planner Decor

Hey everyone.

Today is just a quick post to share with you my weekly planner decor.

I’ve not been using a planner much over the last few months but I’ve decided to start using my gorgeous Galaxy Recollections planner to keep at home with all my stuff in.

This week I used the Unicorn Dreams kit from Your World Of Colour. I love it. It is summery and all pastels which are my fav.

As you can see the EC kits work well in other planners including horizontal ones like this.

If you fancy getting yourself this kit or any others then remember you can use my code for a discount.

Planner Girls Collective: Planner Meets – Pamper, Plan and Create 2018

Hey Everyone and welcome to another Planner Girls Collective post.

This week we have all picked our own topic and today I will be talking about planner meet-up’s, particularly Pamper, Plan and Create (PPC) which I was lucky enough to go to earlier this month.

PPC is organised by three beautiful ladies. Michelle Mills of Ugly Bug Plans, Leanne Snowball of The Geeky Planner and Kelly Bendelow of HazyDaysUK. The first PPC was last year (2017) and was in Newcastle. Unfortunely I couldn’t make that.

PPC was originally set up to provide a relaxing environment for people to get together and share a love for all things stationery. Set to be in the North of England to give those who couldn’t attend southern meet-up’s a chance to partake.

I got really lucky this year and my beautiful friend Debbie purchased a day ticket for me. The tickets are sold either as a day ticket or a weekend ticket which includes an overnight stay and meals.

I was really looking forward to going. I was 50% nervous and 50% excited. I was worried I wouldn’t make it due to either my illness or the horrendous snow that showed up the week of the event. However, I managed to make it and last the day.

I had an amazing time. I got to meet some amazing people and what’s more, I didn’t feel out of place for my hobby. I felt at home.

The day was so relaxed and easy going. Kelly held a travelling workshop on Brush Lettering which I loved and has helped a lot. There were stalls from shop owners which I got to meet and browse.

We also got the most fantastic goodie bags which were little craft totes. They were full of freebies and discount codes. We even got Erin Condren items and a gift certificate for a full price planner from Personal-Planner.

The best thing though…the table I was sat with. Table 3 was fantastic, what an amazing bunch of ladies I got lucky sitting with.

Honestly if anyone ever has doubts about attending a meet, don’t, you will really enjoy it. I’m going to save to attend PPC again next year as I really loved the atmosphere the girls worked so hard on achieving. All in all it was a massive success in my eyes.

Now here are some pictures:)

Lucy Hall’s Social Media Planner Review

Today I wanted to review a product that has saved me worrying about my marketing plan. As an author it is important to use social media and your blog the most effective way. I have never had the time to think about how to set up a marketing plan and when I came across Lucy Hall’s Social Media Planner.

IMG_8313

As you can see from the photo’s it has these beautiful pink flamingo’s as the cover and Lucy uses this throughout her media which helps for her brand recognition. The Planner is a 2018 Social Media Content Planning Diary and I have used it for January and already receiving results.

One of my favourite aspects is how the planner give’s you noteable days, tips for each month, challenges you to give your own objectives and your own important message for each month. Noteable days include days like; National Popcorn Day, Clean Off Your Desk Day, Compliment Day and so on.

At the end of each month you have the chance to recognise your achievements and I believe it is important to celebrate success even if it is the small steps to the big goals.

The layout of the planner is simple but yet effective, it has a classy feel to it. The colours are simple and the flamingo appears on some pages as a background throughout.

As well as the planner Lucy has a Facebook group for those who purchase the planner and it gives you a chance to ask questions, see updates from other members, network, receive training and theres competitions and giveaways which is always a winner for me.

I would highly recommend the planner to anyone who is looking to get organised with their social media, whether they are a blogger, have a business, are an author or are helping clients with marketing. At a price of £17 you have nothing to loose. I am looking forward to my marketing achievements this year.

Planner Reflections and 2018 Set-up

Hey everyone.

Can you believe it’s the end of 2017 already? I feel this year has flown by. I haven’t been as active on here over the last few months but I have never been so busy.

Like many people I suffer from twitchy fingers and I have an inability to relax meaning I take on far too much, which for me came crashing down when I got very sick in November.

However, things are on the mend and I’ve really taken stock of 2017 and what I aim to do going forward. Tomorrow there will be a post as part of the Planner Girls Collective where I will share my goals for 2018 so for today let’s reflect over what I’ve changed.

When 2017 began I was in a pocket size TN and enjoying it. About March I swapped back to a ring planner but it didn’t last more than 2 months. Since then I have been in a TN just in various sizes. I have tried personal, micro, A6 and now I’m in B6.

I have cut back a lot on decoration and find I am rarely using washi at all and stickers are more for function and mild decor.

I really have homed in on what I need from a planner and the purpose it should serve. I no longer seek to have that ultimate pretty planner and lust after everyone else’s, it’s simply not for me.

My 2018 set-up is pretty much the same as how I’ve finished 2017 which the exception of one Planner which I’ve introduced.

So what am I using?

For my everyday carry – do everything planner which houses a weekly diary, monthly overview, book reviews insert, to-do insert and 2 notebooks (dot and lined). This will be my B6 Cinnamon Stick Nayadori.

I am also using the beautiful B6 meadowgate for my business which has a simple incoming order tracker, outgoing order tracker and notebook in.

My new addition which is stunning is the Recollections horizontal planner with the Galaxy cover. I am using this for my studies. I learnt at the end of this year I need to plan my studies out much better than I am as my Masters is getting so much focus my diploma has fallen to the wayside.

So there we have it my 2018 set-up. I would love to know what you’ll be using in the new year so feel free to pop me a comment below:)

Plan With Me 28th Aug to 3rd Sept

Hey everyone. Today I went very much autumnal in my planner. I used the Hello Autumn kit from My Planner Loving Heart.

I adore this kit and there was a huge sale where it was only £3…who could resist! You got so much with it that it will easily do me another 2 spreads.

I teamed it with my functional stickers from Your World of Colour and some autumnal washi I had.

Planner Girl’s Collective: Back To School Supplies

It’s that time of the year again where Autumn starts creeping in and the children are preparing to start the new school year. For the older generation like myself we prepare for college or university.

I am going to be starting my Masters in Law so I have been having a look at supplies I need to gather.

As a self-confessed stationery addict this is probably the best thing for me to do lol.

Pens

I love the Signo Sakura Uniball pen but they are only available from Hong Kong so I order from eBay. I order a larger pack in Black.

I also have these in red and blue – this will be especially handy as I will need to colour code various things such as Acts of Parliament, Laws and Cases.

Highlighers

For me there is only 1 choice. Zebra Mildliners.

I already have the blue set to the right but I am debating buying the other colour set. You can get these from Amazon they do come in single packs as well.

Notebooks

I personally love the ARC notebooks from Staples. I have a few A5 and an A4 which I will be using for my studies. I love the interchangeable pages and that the paper is sturdy and good quality.

Ring-Binder Folders

I haven’t quite decided yet but I’m likely to get either these Kraft ones from Paperchase or these roll around ones from WHSmith.

Other than this I don’t really need anything. I’ve got rulers, pencils etc in the plenty.

Thanks for reading and don’t forget to pop over to the other ladies to see their Back to School Supplies.

Plan With Me 21st – 27th August.

This week in my large ban.do I have gone with a Supernatural theme. Using the last of the kit from UglyBugPlans which is now offered as a free printable on her blog.

I also decorated my smaller Ban.do planner which I use for Blog/Writing.  I used the Galaxy kit from TheGingerCatCo which I bought many months ago.

I’m trying to style my own inserts in my Micro which is used as an everyday carry.

Thanks for reading.
