Planner Girls Collective: Scrapbooking Tips

Planner Girls Collective

Hey everyone,

Today’s PGC post is Scrapbooking Tips.

There is only one tip for me to really share as I don’t really scrapbook, more so I journal.

My tip would be ‘to see everything through scrapbookers eyes’ by this I mean to see everything as potential decoration. This could be leaflets that you can use, magazines you can cut up, leaves, newspapers, tickets, tags, pretty much anything that can be stuck down.

I have used a plethora of items in my journaling, leaves from my local Priory, twigs, cut out letters from newspaper articles etc.

They really do enhance the joy I get from journaling. They make it such fun to figure out uses for them.

If you have any scrapbook tips I would love to hear them, feel free to pop them in the comments below.

Life Documented 2017

Hey Everyone,

I have posted previously about creative journaling that I do. Up until recently it was something I did to celebrate or mark an occasion or memory. This meant that I could go weeks without doing a page.

I had seen the lovely Geraldine mention on her BlogYouTube and Instagram something called The Documented Life project. Unfortunately the original project doesn’t run anymore however there is a Facebook group set up for a 2017 similar version.

Each week on the Life Documented 2017 Facebook group and blog a Prompt and Quote are posted for you to follow. There is also a monthly overall theme. Of course you don’t have to stick to the themes and you can do use your own ideas.

I didn’t start this journey until February but I’ve really enjoyed it so far. I really like the prompts and quotes as they force me to be more creative and think out of the box.

I will be posting regular updates on this project.

Right, let me go through the spreads so far I have undertaken which are all in my Webster’s Traveler’s Notebook.

My first week was Week 5.

Challenge: to incorporate a Zentangle or doodle in my journal.

Prompt: “Do not fear mistakes – there are none.” Miles Davis

Week 6

Challenge: Layers

Quote: “I love Layers” Alexander Wang

For this spread I actually did the ballons and tree’s as fold up flaps so I could write within them as you can see on the 2nd picture.

Week 7

Prompt: Valentine’s

Quote: Even after all this time, the sun never says to the earth “Look you owe me” Look what happens with a love like that, it lights the whole sky – Hãfiz

For this spread I chose to do heart ballons for the week days amongst a night sky. Using quote on the tag.

And that is me up to date. This week’s spread is something that has taken me completely out of my comfort zone and made my inner perfectionist cry, but that’s a good thing!

My Christmas Planner

Tis the season to be jolly…

It’s December!  weeee finally it’s excusable to play Christmas songs, wear Christmas jumpers and watch Home Alone.

It also means it’s time to break out all the Christmas planners and accessories.

Now unlike most people I don’t ‘plan’ Christmas. I do have a planner but it’s not to write my plans in. I use it instead to Journal My December. I may add my Card list and anything I need to remember but that’s about it.

This year I am using a beautiful festive TN from Geekydori. I snagged this in the Black Friday sale for £8.50 and it came with a lovely free insert.

I have ordered some pretty snowflake inserts but I am still waiting for them to arrive.

Now, obviously I didn’t just leave it plain. I have Christmas’d it up.

I used the snowman sticky notes from the UglyBugDoes December Planner box, the Santa magnetic clip I won and the beautiful Dashboard from the Little Rainbow Moon December Mystery kit. I the added further accessories using gift tags etc.

This is the first page in my journal so far.

While I am posting my set up I’ll show you the full contents of the Little Rainbow Moon kit. It was my first kit and I am absolutely in love with it.

I also got this new addition today from Stitch and Weave.

So there you have it, my Christmas planner. I may just post an update on my journaling pages next week.

I’d love to know are you using a Christmas planner? Have you gone for a festive set-up?

Webster’s Pages TN Review and Set-Up

I was kind enough to receive the mint coloured new Webster’s Pages travelers notebook in a swap from a friend. I’d been eyeing these up for a while but really couldn’t justify the cost when I wasn’t sure of it’s quality or whether I’d use it.

When I first received it I was amazed by the colour, I had seen the pictures but it was so much nicer in person.

The leather quality is really nice too, it’s not too floppy but has lots of give, the internal fabric is really nice too.

The elastics are not too taught and have some nice give without having too much. This is bigger than a standard TN, in fact I could fit my full TN with it’s inserts inside this one without issue.

For me one of the best parts are the internal pockets, including a photo pocket. I love these. It’s just like the planner pockets in the ringed Websters Pages.

This would easily fit 6 inserts, if not more. I currently have 4 in there and there is so much more space.

I have set up mine to be my journal and creative space. I am still waiting for some inserts to arrive but I will show you what I have put together so far.

I’d love to know if you use a Webster’s TN and what you think of it and how do you use it?

My Miracle Morning Journal

When I had finished reading The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod I really wanted to implement some kind of journal with everything I would need for my new morning routine.

I had a Traveler’s Notebook which I loved but had been seriously under utilising so I decided to transform it.

ZLYC Embossed in Dark Coffee

Inside I have 3 books, numerous card wallets, zipped wallets, photos etc.

My first book is a personal journal, this is for when I want to write about my life, feelings and how things are. This is private and not written in daily, only when I feel the need to.

My 2nd book is my TMM journal. In this I write briefly about my day/plans, I make a note of my gratitude, wake-up time, reading material and SAVERS tracker. For this I use the Midori 019 refill which has the week split into 7 on one day and empty on the other.

My 3rd book is one which I have listed my affirmations, life goals, aims, Level 10 life wheel, Hal’s downloads and notes from the books I am reading. I am also working on a layout for my visualisation aide.

This is still very much a working progress and it will evolve and change as I do and as my needs do.

If there is anyone else who has a TMM journal I’d love to see what you have done:)

The Leuchtturm 1917 – Things I’ve Added

If you have read my previous post on the Leuctturm 1917 which I started using at the beginning of January you will know that using this type of journal was entirely new to me.

I wasn’t sure entirely how it would progress, what bits i would implement and utilise and what I wouldn’t need. It was all new, shiny and exciting.

I have learnt many things over the last month and I have to admit I am LOVING using it and it works in sync with my Filofax Malden perfectly.

I have learnt that not everything has to be perfect. I rarely draw things out in pencil first now I go right in with the pen and hope for the best. I have made mistakes, plenty of them but that is life and it makes it mine 🙂

th (1)

I have also started adding a few more decorative things like stickers and a bit of washi here and there but not too much. I want it to be pretty but more so functional.

Let’s take a look at what I have added….

First off I have added a Blog states tracker page. Very simple, no need to mark the actual stats as they are recorded elsewhere but this is to remind myself to take note of them and to look at how I want my blog to progress in simple terms.

Next we have a Current Watch List. This is all the programmes I am currently watching. I have a list of all series I watch throughout the year elsewhere. This is just for right now.

Then we have a penpal tracker. I decided to up my penpal game. Handwriting letters is such a nice thing and I love receiving them from people and finding out about different cultures, lives, hobbies etc. However I did start to get a bit confused over who and when I had received them so this seemed like the best way to go.

The Review pages. These will be added at the end of each month to review the previous month and ascertain my goals for the following month. I also add my blog stats here too.

Finally the Monthly Tracker. I really wanted to be more aware of what I needed to do daily, and somewhere to prompt me of the things I sometimes forget to do or make time for. I added a few extra boxes incase I thought of other things I wanted to add. I didn’t start this until a few days ago hence why many of the boxes are crossed out as they had already passed.

I am really happy with how things are progressing with this new method. I would advise anyone who is thinking of trying something similar to go with it and just be yourself.
