My Writing TN Set-Up

I finally got my writing TN set up completed. A while ago I bought a second hand Meadowgate TN from someone who had customised it with ink droplets and it was perfect.

I finished setting it up yesterday when my friend Kirstyanne brought me a NaNoWriMo insert for it.

(I’ll drop shop links below).

I have put in it;

  • A NaNoWriMo insert
  • A general writing insert full of prompts, info, ideas etc
  • A insert with chapters and writing info for my current work in progress
  • A tasks and notes insert to track everything I need to do.
  • My writing journal

I also have some cheetsheets and resources tucked in the back pocket.

I am so happy with it, not just how it functions but the style of it.

Now for the links.

Business Planner Set-Up

I made the decision to change my business lately and discovered that I really needed an active business planner. I won this beautiful A5 Finsbury Filofax from a raffle in a group and it was the perfect size for what I needed.

I found these really cute printables on Etsy that seemed to encompass all the little things I would need.

The printables are from PaperScribblesCo

As you can see they work perfectly and have made my business run much smoother.

I am really happy with how this is working for me, and it helps that is seriously pretty:)

Thanks for reading.

Small Business Spotlight: Love From Poppy Designs

Today I have the lovely Beverley over at Love From Poppy Designs.

1) Tell us a little about you, who is the person behind the shop?

Hi, I am Bev, a 34 year old mum of two little Edwards’.  Poppy is 6 and Chester is 4.  My husband and I both have our very own mini me’s.  I grew up in Northampton before travelling and eventually settling up in the North West after a move prompted by my husband’s job.  Before I had children I worked as a beauty therapist and later an office manager.  I love my job now, and the fact I can work around the children makes it the best type of job I could’ve hoped for.

2) What does your store sell?

My shop is relatively new and I sell Leather Travelers Notebooks and plan to add accessories and all of the elements that create a functional, pretty and useful planner.  The covers are made from very high quality leather and are handmade and tooled from start to finish.  Every aspect of the creative process is done by me and it is a process I love and take the care and attention to ensure only the highest quality products leave my workshop.

3) Is there an item which you have made that you have loved above all others?

It’s hard to pick one product because I love them all! If I had to pick my favourite would have to be the A6 traveler’s notebook.  I love the size and how although it is compact, there is still so much room to write everything you need to.

4) What is your most popular seller?

My most popular seller is the Pocket Wide TN.  I think Pocket size is very popular at the moment as printables and inserts are becoming more readily available thanks to the fabulous designers such as AnniePlans and Homemade Kraft.  It is also a brilliant portable size but with the addition of my pockets it makes it a lovely every day carry.

5) What inspired your shop name?

My shop name was inspired by my daughter! When I was in the first few months of being a new mum, I knew I didn’t want to work outside of the home again if I could help it.  I bought a sewing machine and used old clothes as material and taught myself to sew.  I made lots of items, just for me really and to use in my baby changing bag.  People started to ask me to make them bits too and it really went from there.  The Love From part was my way of making it seem like a gift was arriving every time somebody bought something.  Poppy was my inspiration for learning this new craft so it made sense for me to add her name instead of my own.  I do get messages sometimes where people call me Poppy and it makes me smile.

6) What planner do you use?

The planner I use at the moment is one of my own, an A6 yellow TN and I am in love!! I call it my brain and everything goes into it, new ideas, plans for the future, regular planning for the family schedules and notes and lists galore!  I use Annie Plans A6 sized inserts and growing up goddess daily pages.

7) What is your planning style?

My planning style is pretty much ‘on the go’.  I will sit down on Sunday evening and begin the groundwork, of putting down things I know that will be happening that week, swimming for my daughter, preschool for my son etc.  Then I check it every day and write down my ‘to do’s’ for that day.  Any future plans I have go on a post it ready to be moved over to the next booklet if it isn’t already in there.  I use minimal decoration and functional stickers only.  I do love memory keeping in my journal so I save my creative stickers and washi for that one.

8) What are your social media channels?

My Instagram is @lovefrompoppydesign and I have a Facebook page which is also Love from Poppy Designs.  I am planning on opening a group so everyone can see new products and interact and gather inspiration from each other within the TN community.  It’s on the very long list of things to do 😉

9)What is your planner ‘unicorn’?

My unicorn planner is not so much the planner, but the inserts! My unicorn planner is the one I have now.  But insert peace is something I have struggled with for a while.  I have however been very happy in my Annie Plans monthly booklets so I think I’m pretty much there.

10) What is the link to your shop?

My shop is LoveFromPoppyDesigns and please come over and take a peek.  I am going to be adding more and more to it over the coming months and it would be great for you to join the journey!

Plan With Hannah UK Insert Review

* Disclaimer: I received a sample 3 month copy of inserts from Hannah in exchange for my unbiased review and critique. My opinions are my own and without influence.

If you have read my blog before you know I love a good insert. In all honestly I’m yet to come across one I’ve reviewed I have disliked however Hannah’s inserts really do raise the bar.

They were delivered within a couple of days of us speaking and were packaged perfectly.

Hannah popped a little note in the front with her business card, thanking me for reviewing the product and offering a code for all my readers which I will pop in later.

The first thing that got me when I took the inserts out of the wrapping was the thickness and quality.
The paper is thick and smooth, 120gsm and has with stood the pen I have used with absolutely no ghosting. Hannah mentioned that she has also done a pen test and found non to bleed through.

I set about decorating it ready for September as that was my chosen month start and I really enjoyed using them. The lines are dark and thin, perfect for me as I prefer having narrow lines.

I received September to December monthly overview and 3 month week on 1 page with extras.

As you can see there is plenty of room to write in.

Hannah offers various size and designs in her store and charges only 50p extra for a custom design.

The prices are extremely good value and low compared to others I have seen.

I loved these so much I actually placed a custom order for some to be made for when I go back to college in September. I know that Hannah is also working on some seasonal inserts too.

Here are the details on how to contact Hannah and see her work.

Thank you for reading and if you are looking for inserts I highly recommend making the most of the discount and ordering.

A5 Everyday Planner Set-Up

For those who have read my previous posts you are well aware I have so much love for my personal purple Malden. I’ve been using this as my main planner now since August, and personal size for over a year.

However I was feeling the need to change it up, go bigger. I may not have a busy life but as I didn’t want to crowd my pages I wouldn’t note a lot of things. The a5 allows me to write down everything I want to write down without feeling page clutter.

I decided to use my a5 pink Carpe Diem. I do have the new Ballerina Carpe Diem on pre-order and will swap to that in August if I am still happy using the A5 size.

I’m quite happy with this decision as I adore the Carpe inserts and they were just sat unused. I also don’t feel the need to decorate as much with these are they are pretty enough without additional decor.

I have added more sections than the Carpe originally comes with buy adding tabs along the top which then just leaves the side tabs for months.

The sections I have currently are:
* Account and Reference Numbers
* Incomings and Outgoings
* Contacts
* Notes
* To-Do
* Expenses
* April – December

I then have 2 plastic zipped wallets and a cardboard folder wallet.

Please find pictures of my current set up below.

Hello world!

My name is Emma-Louise and I’d like to start by admitting that I have a serious addiction. My addiction is to anything stationery!

I am a compete geek with this sort of stuff for years I kept it to myself and was pretty low key but times are a changing 🙂

Ever since I was tiny I have loved notebooks, pens, planners, stickers etc but the range of things available pales in comparison to what is out there now.

Back then Filofax was pretty much the bees knees not planners but now…now there are so many. You have Kikki-K, Websters Colour Crush, Erin Condren,  Midori, Fauxdori, Create 365 Happy Planner, Heidi Swapp, the list is endless.

Not only do you have ringbound planners but you have diskbound planners and elasticated planners for a new to this world person you’d get very overwhelmed.

I own my different types of planners. Some have rings and disks and others have elastic.

I love the idea of sharing my passion with other like-minded individuals.

I not only plan to share my experiences and purchases via my blog but also post information about everything planner related to help those who are new to this world or simply need a place of reference.

I am based in the UK and will be primarily aiming to get the European sector out there as resources are fewer here but I will also reference those all over the world.

I hope you enjoy reading about it as much as I love writing about it.

Enjoy, Love and Create.
